Benefits of Joining
There are several benefits to becoming a member of our organization. Our members are close friends and we have a great time when we get together. Of course we also have a common interest, and we hope to further our cause.
How Can You Join?
The first step is to download the dues deduction form located on this page. Simply fill out the information and send the form to Frank Dowd in the Rush Library. He will contact you if he needs more information.
FSW-FF Is Working For You!
FSW-Faculty Federation has a long and established tradition of bargaining excellence. At the table, our bargaining team represents the interests of the membership. Our teams have consistently bargained the best contracts in the state including
-Shorter Contracts
-Job Protection
-Shared Governance
-Improved Working Conditions
Representation
Every union member receives exclusive representation in any issue involving terms and conditions of employment. On the local level, our union officers and stewards are available to represent you if asked. When needed, we can ask for professionally trained field staff representation. FSW-FF belongs to United Faculty of Florida, a professional organization with over a century of collective bargaining experience in higher education. They are available to help any union member solve critical issues, such as
-Grievance and Arbitration Hearings
-Evaluation Disagreements
-Certification Problems
-Payroll Errors
Members receive the assurance of having trained and experienced legal council available to them through their union membership. While non-members can hire the same legal council with money out of their own pockets, such representation would easily cost over several thousands of dollars. The union, through UFF retains local and state attorneys who have years of experience dealing with state and local education law.
Insurance
The union provides members with one million dollars in liability insurance for on-the-job protection as well as discounts on auto, home, and life insurance.
We can do together what you cannot do alone.
